Architecture Plus provided Poudre School District (PSD) with architectural design services for a major renovation of Poudre High School. A kitchen remodel, modified secure entrance, new mechanical systems including boiler, HVAC, heat pumps, water heaters and lighting as well as upgraded finishes such as carpet, lockers and auditorium seating are a few of the improvements made.
This project was funded from the successful passage of the mill levy and bond issue in 2010. In 2007, Architecture Plus performed an audit of all of PSD’s schools (45), administration and service facilities including their rural schools and updated the audit in 2010. All buildings and site systems were reviewed with heavy emphasis on energy saving systems and equipment. In November 2010, using information contained in our Facility Audit, a bond issue for 120 million dollars for capital improvements and a 16 million dollar annual mill levy for expenses was approved. This was one of a very few bond and mill levy ballot items approved in Colorado during the current economic downturn.
