This fire station for the Poudre Fire Authority reflects the character of the original brick masonry in “Old Town”. The new station set an architectural tone in a historic section of Fort Collins.
The brick and concrete masonry echo historical architectural details, while the facility incorporates the latest mechanical and safety technology. Daylighting and photo-voltaic technology are included in the design of the facility. These features substantially reduce operation and maintenance costs for the facility.
The facility includes three equipment bays and two service bays for firefighting equipment, living and sleeping areas, and a kitchen/dining room. Integral to the design are features that work to alleviate the high stress inherent in a fire fighters daily life.
