Architecture Plus developed a new food service concept at Corbett Hall on the CSU campus. Teaming with Ricca/Newmark Design, twelve new venues were designed to showcase each menu item and present them in a distinctive and tasteful way. Each serving station exhibits its own unique design, yet coordinates with the entire venue as a whole. The schedule was critical to this project’s success. From the award of the design contract until venue opening was only 12 months.
Due to the universal sight lines with the dining room, design details considered the view of the customer being served and for a 360° perception of the servery. The concept of the ‘display kitchen’ allows for an interactive experience for the customers. The serving counters are designed to allow flexibility for self-service, as well as served lines, to accommodate different programs and varying capacities throughout the year.
Rich colors and materials create a feast for the eyes which compliments the varied fare. Architecture Plus coordinated all food service equipment, utilities, lighting and detailing. Coordination was required to marry the food service equipment to the custom casework designed specifically for the project.
